Bentonites mechanism of action is physical, due to its colloidal structure and charged particles of sodium, calcium, magnesium and potassium ions, which allow it to bind with unwanted substances in the stomach, small intestine and colon. It is not digested, nor is it absorbed into the bloodstream. Since unwanted substances are bound to the bentonite, they are excreted from the body when the bentonite is eliminated through bowel movements.

ADULTS AND CHILDREN OVER 12: Shake well before using. Take 1 tablespoonful mixed with 4 to 8 ounces of liquid once or twice a day. Drink additional fluid during the day. Bentonite can be taken on an empty stomach or with food. To help settle the stomach, bentonite can be taken after a meal.
Store at room temperature or in the refrigerator. Keep lid tightly closed to protect contents.
As with all bentonite supplements, do not take within 1 to 2 hours of prescription medications. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication or are under a doctors care, consult a health professional before use.
